Westgate Plant Swap!

Do you have indoor or outdoor plants that need divided? Looking to diversify the plant types in your yard? Friends of Westgate Park and the Westgate Neighbors Association are partnering to host a plant swap!
Details:
Drop off plants on Friday, 5/14 from 6 – 8PM at the swap location. We will sort the plants into categories and get them organized for the next day. Please bring your plant in a container that you don’t mind parting with, like an old planter, plastic bag, or bucket. Please also include some identifying information if known, such as plant name, color, and any lighting preferences on a piece of paper or written on the container.

Come back to the swap location on Saturday, 5/15 from 10AM – Noon and pick out some new plants!
*Please take only as many plants as you brought to share. If you have no plants to share but would like to take one home, please consider a donation to Friends of Westgate Park as ‘payment’ for the plants! All funds will be used toward park improvements*
Here are some examples of plants that would work well for this swap: hostas, irises, daylilies, black-eyed susans, ornamental grasses, sedum, purple coneflower, etc. Houseplants are welcome as well!

Parking for the day of the swap is available along Parkside Rd, as well as the large parking lot near the park. **Please do not park in any of the spots along Brinker Ave, as they are reserved for the fire department. Due to proximity to the fire dept, do NOT park along Brinker as the large ladder trucks use this road to reach the garage.**
Due to ongoing concerns with the spread of COVID-19, all FOWP members will be wearing masks, and we ask that you please do the same. Hand sanitizer will be provided. The swap will take place outdoors, rain or shine, and we will have tents in the event of rain.
This event is only as good as the variety of plants provided, so please share this event with anyone who might be interested.
